Hi! My name is Egla, I am a private English tutor. My first language is French and I had to learn English along the way. Now, I speak both English and French with a native proficiency so I fully understand the challenges of learning a new language.

My English lessons are focused, interactive sessions designed to help students improve their language skills in areas such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The lesson typically begins with a brief review of previous material or concepts to assess proficiency levels and understanding.

Based on the student’s individual needs, I will introduce new topics or skills, providing clear explanations and examples to enhance comprehension. For example, to improve writing skills and grammar, a lesson might involve writing a short essay, or expanding vocabulary by reading a book and discussing it.

Speaking and listening are an important part to learning any language so each lesson will include this component so that each student can become more confident to speak to English and improve conversational fluency. Often I will encourage the student to engage in dialogue, so that they can use the new language structures and vocabulary in context.

Throughout the lesson, I will adapt to the student’s learning pace, offering constructive feedback and motivation. Homework assignments may be given to reinforce concepts and ensure continued progress. The goal of my lessons is to build confidence, develop language proficiency, and foster a deeper understanding of the English language, in a tailored way that meets the student’s goals and learning style.
