I am a historian and educator with a PhD in History from Maynooth University, Ireland. My research focuses on 18th-century medical history, particularly the intersections of psychiatry, religion, and culture. Alongside my academic work, I have developed extensive experience as a teacher, specializing in supporting international students and English language learners.
Throughout my career, I have lectured and led tutorials at the undergraduate level, designed course materials, and provided targeted English language instruction. My teaching philosophy is centred on accessibility, engagement, and skill development. I strive to create an inclusive environment where students not only deepen their understanding of history but also improve their academic writing, critical thinking, and communication skills.
As an English language instructor, I focus on helping students navigate the challenges of academic writing and discussion. I incorporate structured language support into my teaching, providing guidance on grammar, essay construction, and verbal expression. My approach is practical and student-centred, offering clear explanations and detailed feedback to build confidence and fluency in English.
My international experience, including research collaborations in Germany and Ireland, has given me a strong appreciation for diverse learning backgrounds. I understand the challenges of studying in a second language and work to ensure my students feel supported and empowered.
Whether guiding students through historical debates or refining their English skills, my goal is always to equip them with the tools they need to succeed—academically, professionally, and beyond.
