My teaching approach is dynamic, discussion-driven, and deeply rooted in both historical scholarship and practical communication skills. With a background in 18th-century medical history, I bring a research-focused yet engaging style to the classroom, ensuring that students don’t just absorb information but actively engage with historical narratives.
I have extensive experience leading tutorial groups and lecturing at the undergraduate level, designing lesson plans that emphasize critical thinking, primary source analysis, and structured debate. I believe in fostering an inclusive and interactive learning environment where students—especially those from international backgrounds—feel encouraged to develop their analytical and linguistic abilities.
Beyond history, I am also an experienced English language tutor, working closely with students to refine their writing, argumentation, and academic communication. My experience with international students has given me insight into the challenges of learning in a second language, and I prioritize clarity, accessibility, and engagement in both content delivery and assessment.
Whether guiding students through complex historical concepts or helping them develop strong written and verbal communication skills, my goal is always to equip them with the tools they need for academic and professional success. By integrating structured coursework with open discussion, I create a learning environment that is both rigorous and supportive, ensuring students leave my classes with a deeper understanding of history and improved language proficiency.
