Warum haben englische Wörter manchmal eine so komische Aussprache? Wieso schreibt man anders, als man es ausspricht?

Ich finde es verwirrend, dass man im Englischen Wörter oft ganz anders ausspricht, als sie geschrieben werden. Das macht es für mich schwerer zu lernen.

It depends on the language of origin. English has pulled words from German, Latin, French, and Spanish to form its language. The long story short is that English loves to break the rules! We actually teach children a list of around 220 words called sight words when they first begin to read. These are words you must simply memorize the spelling and pronunciation because they do not follow phonetical rules.
