Yasemin Abra

My name is Yasemin, and I am deeply passionate about both learning and teaching languages. With a background in cognitive psychology and years of experience performing English theatre, I have developed a strong appreciation for language as a dynamic tool for communication and expression.
In my English tutoring sessions with children (ages 5-12), I integrate creativity and improvisation to make learning engaging and effective. My experience performing for young audiences has given me a mindful playfulness that I bring into my teaching, helping children feel comfortable and excited about language learning.
Before each session, I assess the child’s openness to verbal communication. If they seem hesitant, I create a relaxed environment by playing English songs in the background and engaging in nonverbal activities like drawing together. Gradually, I encourage conversation in a natural and enjoyable way. For children who are already comfortable speaking, we explore a range of topics, from daily activities to subjects like nature and anatomy, through discussions, storytelling, and improvisational exercises. Additionally, I provide support with homework and exam preparation when needed. I would love the opportunity to bring this interactive and personalized approach to your tutoring program.
