William Brown

I have taught for 4 years as a foreign language teacher to ages ranging from 12-19, with experience teaching online through Covid. I am MOPI (modified oral proficiency interviews) certified and SEI (sheltered English immersion) certified. My teaching method is that of incorporating different modes of understanding a single topic, utilizing things such as books to active games, to online programs to video uploading to literal hands-on material.

I have learned to teach the language organically, so as to let the student drive the process and then me going off of student interest to guide their learning, all the way to more direct curriculum based teaching style that involves more of a linear tiered progression. I am big on the importance of being able to communicate effectively and that mistakes are the way in which progress is made! Risk-taking is encouraged and I seek to made sure my learning environment is one of unanxious expectations.
