Communicative English and Academic Writing

I am a PhD research scholar at Central European University (CEU) in the Sociology and Social Anthropology Department. My PhD research focuses on understanding the network of state-led electricity distribution in India through the lens of its indigenous communities as a means to examine power relationships between them and the state and to explore the scope of community negotiation and representation when it comes to indigenous communities in this relationship.
I have worked as a teaching assistant for BA and MA courses for two terms at CEU during the academic year of-I taught, contributed to the syllabi, and graded student assignments throughout this time. These responsibilities helped me become a better research scholar and paved the way for academic teaching. I have also worked as a research associate and freelance research consultant with various Indian and international organisations on their development projects. While stationed in Vienna, Austria, working on my PhD dissertation, I am looking for opportunities that can be fulfilled while working on my thesis.
The knowledge and experience I have gained from my disciplinary background (social anthropology) and previous job responsibilities, especially dealing with academic-based research materials, would benefit this position at Inspire. Since all my educational qualifications and work experience were in English, I have a strong command of the language—both in writing, reading and speaking. Furthermore, as a fourth-year PhD scholar at CEU, I am completely familiar with the complexities and depth of English language communicative needs. This familiarity would also help me understand the specific needs of those who want to learn English. In addition, my prior experience working on joint projects with various research and community-based initiatives would also benefit me to function efficiently in a multilevel and multitasking work setup.
