As an English Language Teacher, I have always enjoyed teaching. I have been working as a full-time English language teacher for 3 years and giving private lessons for over 4 years. I think teaching allows you to learn something new every day. In my private lessons, I always start by getting to know the learners. I try to catch their level, interests, and skills that need to be worked on. It is important to know why people learn the language, so I ask my learners about their goals and plans with the language. After our coordination with the learner, I plan my lessons accordingly and make a schedule. I think the more you are surrounded by the language, the easier you will learn it. That's why I aim my learners to speak as much as possible and explain themselves. Language is not only about grammar. It is a dynamic structure. It changes and is shaped by the everyday world. That's why using it makes it easier to grasp. I teach different strategies for each skill because grammar, vocabulary, listening, writing and reading are all different. However, when we take the first step, we will make sure to add on it more. They are different from each other but they meet at the same point. For example, in reading, we will learn new vocabulary and grammar items along with the reading. When it comes to listening, we will practise vocabulary, grammar and speaking in combination with the listening skill. Language learning is a team work and I am happy to help you along this journey!
