I have graduated from the University of South Africa where I majored in Anthropology and International Politics. I have also obtained a certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
I have over 4 years teaching experience and have taught students ranging from the age of 3 to 56 years old. My teaching experience includes paid and volunteer work in China, Ethiopia, Germany, South Africa, and Vietnam. The subjects I have taught include English, arts, game design, and robotics.
I'm quite flexible when it comes to my lessons because I understand each student may have different needs. I encourage my students to speak as much as possible, as it's the best way to get comfortable in speaking a language and you will learn faster.
What I teach during a lesson depends on my students' goals. Before we start lessons, I contact my students to find out what those goals are and what their preferences are. I believe that will help make our lessons enjoyable and help us work together even better.
My lessons are entirely in English. However, if you are unsure about a word, feel free to let me know and I will do my best to give you the translation. Another thing to note is that I give my students constructive feedback, when I think it is necessary. This means that if I notice you making a particular mistake often enough, I will let you know and give you examples and/or advice on how to improve. Making mistakes is not a bad thing and I always emphasize this in my lessons. We all learn through our mistakes.
