I have three years’ teaching experience as an assistant teacher in High school in India. I was involved with 11th and 12th standard Chemistry theory as well as practical classes and also involved for Mathematics classes for all ages children students. I had taken four to five theory classes and one practical class in a day and each class duration was one hour. Student strength in all classes was sixty to seventy.
My teaching area was based on Organic, Inorganic and Physical chemistry. The topic for 11th standard was Atomic Structure, Periodic Table, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Gases and Liquids, Equilibrium, Redox Reaction and Hydrocarbon. For standard 12th, I have taken Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, Haloalkenes, Haloarenes, Aldehyde, ketones and Carboxylic Acids and Organic compounds containing Nitrogen.
My teaching area was also involved for basic Mathematics for all ages of children.
I was also involved to assist students in doing various experiments such as acid- base titration involving molarity, preparation of inorganic compound name as Potash alum/ Mohr's salt, preparation of crystalline Ferrous Sulfate/Copper Sulfate, identification of single salt containing one cation one anion etc. in labs and taking safety precautions.
Apart from the theory and practical classes, I was involved with evaluating and grading and various assignments of students. I must assess and look after students’ progress throughout the term and work closely with other staff to efficiently plan and coordinate work. I have to also maintain communication with parents and colleagues to meet teaching goals and also trained new teachers, emphasizing the importance of classroom control, time management, course planning, and adherence to the curriculum.
