With a master's degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and a bachelor's degree in English, I have a strong foundation for teaching Chinese with high fluency in English. Throughout my career of more than 10 years, I have had the opportunity to teach in various countries, enriching my understanding of diverse educational settings. Currently, I run my own Chinese language business based in Croatia meanwhile I am working with a wide range of students from all over Europe. My teaching philosophy emphasizes inclusivity and cultural respect, ensuring a positive learning experience for all students.
My journey began at Shanghai International Studies University where I taught Chinese to foreign students from 2013 to 2014 for a whole school year as a part of my master's degree program.
I taught Chinese language to two groups of adult students at Confucius Institute at University of Zagreb from 2014 to 2015.
From 2017 to 2018 I taught Chinese as a lecturer at Department of Foreign Languages & Literature, University of Zimbabwe.
From 2019 to 2021 I taught a Chinese language program to children age 5-6 in a private kindergarten in Croatia.
In the end of 2020 I started my own language school, teaching Chinese to students of all ages, face-to-face and online.
My experience includes creating curricula and lesson plans, incorporating technology and interactive activities to enhance the learning experience. A lot of my adult students were business professionals, focusing on language skills relevant to their work environment. My lessons included business communication, cultural etiquette, conversational Chinese and industry-specific terminology, which enhanced their ability to engage in international business.
My experience includes developing lesson schemes and plans, sourcing or creating learning materials, and employing personalized teaching methods for adults. I am adept at evaluating student performance, providing feedback and fostering a learning environment.
Throughout my teaching career, I have consistently utilized technology to enhance learning and
administrative tasks. At Shanghai International Studies University I used advanced features of Microsoft Office Suite for creating detailed lesson plans and interactive presentations. During my career in Europe and Africa I employed data analysis tools such as Excel to track student progress and adapt my teaching methods accordingly, I integrated language learning software and managed virtual classrooms using platforms like Zoom and Google Meet and I utilized multimedia editing software, such as Videoleap and Apple Clips, to create engaging educational videos and podcasts. These advanced computer skills have consistently supported my teaching effectiveness and administrative efficiency, making me well-suited for the role.
