Experienced Biology tutor

My knowledge and experience in the field of biology are extensive and multifaceted, having been acquired over a decade of academic study, research, and teaching. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology, with a particular focus on the molecular mechanisms that underpin cellular processes and their implications for health and disease. Throughout my academic career, I have engaged extensively with a range of subfields within the field of biology, including genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, physiology, and ecology. This has enabled me to develop a comprehensive and integrated understanding of the subject matter.
At the present time, as a student of neuroscience, I have broadened the scope of my research to encompass cell signalling and membrane trafficking, with a particular focus on Rab GTPases and their function in vesicular transport. My Master's thesis investigates the functional diversity of Rab GTPases and their interactions with effector proteins, which are vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and facilitating communication between organelles.
In addition to my research experience, I have a substantial background in teaching and mentoring. I have served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses in cell biology, genetics, and biochemistry. In these roles, I was responsible for the development and delivery of lectures, the design of laboratory exercises, and the provision of one-to-one tutoring to students. My pedagogical approach is student-centred, with the objective of fostering critical thinking and a comprehensive understanding of biological concepts. I believe in utilising a range of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles, including interactive discussions, hands-on activities, and the integration of current research findings.
Moreover, I have been involved in several outreach programmes aimed at promoting science education among high school students. I have conducted workshops and seminars that introduce fundamental biological concepts and laboratory techniques, with the intention of inspiring the next generation of scientists.
