I usually start with a basic introduction, I try to get to know the person first. Then for teaching i use their likes in order for them to learn it with more interest otherwise they would lose interest if it gets too boring for them. My first student was actually my maid’s daughter, she didn’t know how to read or write. I taught her how to read and write by using her interests and a lot of images so that it’s easier for her to learn.
