Paul Speziali

Hello!
My name is Paul Speziali, I am a 33-year-old English and Italian native speaker, and an EFL-qualified teacher with a background in TIE (Theatre in Education) and extensive experience working as a CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) workshop facilitator, teacher-trainer and curriculum developer.
I am a BA graduate in Anthropology & Media and currently in my final year of an MA degree course in Languages and Literature. I hold TEFL Level 5 and TEFL.TP (Theatre and Play) certifications, and I have experience teaching learners of all ages, levels, and backgrounds.
In terms of teaching methods, I try to make my lessons as interactive as possible.
With basic-level learners I might draw from my TIE experience by adopting a more game-based approach to introduce and practice specific grammar structures, or do role-play activities to facilitate the retention of linguistic information.
With more advanced students I usually draw from my CLIL experience, integrating authentic materials that respond to each of their specific needs and passions. For example, if a student is interested in improving their listening and speaking skills, and has a passion for literature, I might pick a video-interview of one of their favourite authors. If another student is interested in practicing reading and writing skills, I will turn to an article.
In a nutshell, I am passionate about teaching and care for my students' improvement. This makes me an enthusiastic and dynamic language coach and, significantly, a lifelong learner.
