I am a passionate teacher. I enjoy teaching and explaining fun stuff about languages to learners. As a teenager I helped school kids in my neighbourhood with their homework’s, this was when I developed the interest in teaching and coaching, I studied European studies at the university of Ibadan for bachelors , afterwards I taught formally and informally at different locations, I acquired TEFL and other qualifications for teaching English and travelled to Japan where I thought 8 schools in my first year and a 4 more schools in my second and third year. I also taught business and conversational English to adults in the evenings. During this period, I was able to really expand my knowledge of language teaching and practice. I am particularly interested in English as lingua franca, English as a global language and pluricentric English, the research, and findings of prof. Jennifer Jenkins further evoked my curiosity and decision to study further, so I enrolled in a master’s program in linguistics in Germany at the same time taking on the challenge of learning German as an adult ??. But life happened, I met my husband and 3 children after, I am still on the said master’s program. The blessing is, I have now watched and learned another interesting part of my linguistics study journey, how children acquire language and the journey to bilingualism.
A long story for another day and another chapter. We can share stories as we go along.
Looking forward to meeting you all.
