I have taught languages for about 9 years in different levels of education, from elementary school to college students. I regularly use technology tools to teach students deeply like kahoot, blooket, quizizz, etc...
When I teach a language I commonly use the three stages of a class: Presentation, Production and Practice. During the presentation, I introduce the topic to let the students know what are we going to talk about. I try to use common examples and some phrases with a strong meaning for the students. In the production part, students must create their own product with the guidance of the teacher, they can make mistakes, work in teams and correct themselves. Finally, speaking of practice section, students are the author of their own knowledge, they can produce a presentation, a practice, a worksheet with the content of the class.
I use some other techniques like "icebreakers" when I start the class. These icebreakers are important because they are helpful to make the students feel comfortable before starting the class.
Also, before ending a class, I tend to use feedback activities to review previous or current topics through brainstorm or some helpful websites.
