I sense that being educated in Classical studies has given me a subtle sensibility of how language learning can be boosted by the conceptual bonds that it shares with mathematics (especially when it comes to grammar) and logic among various subjects. This educational path has proven to be very useful in multiple environments, starting from my experience as a private tutor in Ancient Greek and Latin for high school students, in this type of pedagogical situation I have found that my knowledge of general grammar notions has turned out to be an unexpected key factor in defining study programmes that could suit the cognitive and social needs of the student I was teaching to. Additionally, I have had the chance to work in a migrant hosting centre, this one in particular has been a serious challenge, as I was facing people that had no knowledge of my language and came from extreemly different backgrounds. Nonetheless, I was able to establish an effective communicating bond with them, overcoming cultural barriers, in order for them to learn not only italian, but in many cases to learn how to read and write for the first time in their life as well.
