I grew up in New York City, USA and I am a native Spanish and English (American accent) speaker and tutor. I have taught several students both English and Spanish in the past since 2018. Regardless of the level my student is at, my approach is to make my students feel comfortable and know that I am here to teach them and not judge them. It is okay to make mistakes, that is why I am here. I myself am learning Mandarin as a 3rd language and I know what it is like to learn a foreign language. I know mastering a foreign language isn't easy and requires time and dedication but the student is only as good as his/her tutor. The tutor has the responsibility to provide the right techniques so the students learn and most importantly retain the information taught.

Knowing the goals of my students is of immense importance for me. I always ask my students what their goals are and what they wish to achieve at the end of our session. Do they want to learn Spanish for a professional setting? For business? Or simply for an upcoming trip? This is important because I strive to meet the goals of my students and I will adjust our conversations to meet those needs.

I always ask my students at what level they believe they are at (A1-C2) and I also make my own assessment by asking questions and adjusting my level of conversation skills to determine the level we are starting at and take it from there. I also focus a lot on pronunciation, for a lot of people it is important not just to know the language but also have a good pronunciation. A lot of times when trying to speak a new language, our tongues feel rigid and it feels odd to say certain words. I help my students with proper pronunciation and help them sound more like a a native speaker.
