I have many years of teaching English to foreign students and as a language learner myself I know just how daunting it can be. We will follow an easy, intuitive and informal format to make you feel more comfortable. You can choose to focus on grammar, fluency, vocabulary or any other area you wish to improve, or I am happy to direct the lessons to help you improve. Language is best acquired when the student is relaxed and having fun, so I always make sure our conversation topics are interesting and entertaining. We will practice language skills by talking about articles and reports, extracts from books, TV shows and songs, using these materials to delve deeper into the language and culture. You’ll learn how to navigate everyday situations with native speakers, including in shops, ordering food and other common scenarios. You’ll get precise and timely feedback to help you consolidate your learning. I will teach you the flash card method for learning vocabulary - it is highly effective, and there is a free online version you can download onto your computer. A few minutes practice per day will help you increase your vocabulary at a very fast rate. I know that new students often feel overwhelmed, so we will take the lessons at your pace, balancing things evenly between developing speaking, writing, listening and reading skills.
