As a lot of my teaching experience has been based around teaching yoga and mindfulness, I believe that patience and gentleness is extra important to the learning process. As a lot of my teaching experience has been based around teaching yoga and mindfulness, I believe that patience and gentleness is extra important to the learning process. Rather than telling my student what to do, I would do my best to guide them in a way that they feel comfortable with, but also give them flexibility to choose their own way of doing things.
In the past, I have taught English to children in impoverished countries, and this really changed my life. As the children were between 3-10 years old, the lessons required a lot of care and trust-building for them to actually want to learn. During these months, I also realised that these students were teaching me too, in their own way. This is the dynamic that I stick to, and truly feel is the most effective in any student-teacher relationship.
The content of my classes are flexible. However, as I am a creative, this is also reflected in the way that I teach. Therefore, in my lessons utilize tools creative tools such as music, movies, art and games to keep the time captivating for the student. I would also introduce the student to cultural ways of learning English and leave them with fun little practices they can do at home or with their friends. The avenue of creative writing was something that really changed my life and I would also hope to share this with my students.
Thank you for viewing my profile, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Love,
Iman
