My teaching methods focus on meeting the specific individual needs of each student and skill level, while meeting the learning goals of the course curriculum. That being the case, I focus on constantly assessing the 4 language skills (reading, speaking, writing and listening) in each class for each student. I also highly encourage and teach my students several easy methods on how to practice when they aren't in class. With the intermediate/high levels, I will have more conversation to see how they are able to use English as a living language.
My experience is wide-ranging in teaching ESL students from several nations and native languages. Currently, I teach around 15 classes and my students are mostly German, with several from other EU countries and a few from the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Due to my linguistics education and teaching experience, I'm able to use International Phonetics Alphabet, translators and other learning methods to ensure the students fully understand necessary concepts.
