It all depends upon the learners' needs and interests that lessons are built up and constructed to achieve the desired goals. I personally focus on broad objectives such communication skills, critical thinking, but it does never meant I ignore working on texts, scripts and tailored materials to step up my students' abilities in reading, listening and writing.
