I spent one year Government Bilingual High school Ndu and 5 years in Government Bilingual high school Fonfuka and another year in Yaounde teaching alongside older and more experienced professionals. I honestly enjoyed this experience and learned a lot from the veteran teachers. Every day was different, and I felt like understanding each student better and better as we progressed in the program. This experience helped me to understand that teaching was a right choice for my career, and now I am motivated to teach, and to put into practice everything I learned. Of course, I know I still have a lot to learn, and hope to continue learning know techniques daily. I have found that there are a plethora of ways to teach other than simply lecturing. I love to do hands-on activities like experiments and crafts that help to reinforce a concept that I have lectured on. I also like to take my children on field trips, both real and virtual, in order to take a more in-depth look at the subjects that we are covering in a particular unit. Learning can be, and should be fun – and making it fun allows me to reach students in ways that I cannot by lecturing.
