What My English Lessons Look Like:
Teaching Methods: My lessons are designed to be highly interactive and personalized to each student’s needs. I use a mix of communicative teaching methods that focus on real-world usage of English. We focus on building confidence in speaking, writing, listening, and reading through practical activities, discussions, and engaging exercises.
Task-based learning: I incorporate real-life tasks such as writing emails, making presentations, or discussing current events, which help students use English in meaningful, everyday contexts.
Grammar in context: Rather than memorizing rules, we learn grammar by using it in conversation, writing, and reading, making it easier to understand and remember.
Immersive language practice: Lessons are primarily conducted in English to encourage immersion, which speeds up learning and builds fluency.
Lesson Content: Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and goals. I create a balanced mix of:
Conversation practice: We work on fluency, pronunciation, and confidence in speaking through role-playing, debates, and discussions on topics of interest to the student.
Reading and comprehension: We explore texts that range from news articles and stories to academic papers, with a focus on improving vocabulary and understanding complex ideas.
Writing exercises: From emails to essays, I help students enhance their writing structure, clarity, and grammar.
Listening skills: I use a variety of audio resources (e.g., podcasts, interviews, videos) to sharpen listening comprehension and understanding different accents.
Teaching Dynamics: My lessons are dynamic, adaptive, and student-centered. I believe in creating an encouraging, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. We’ll engage in:
Active discussions: Instead of lectures, I foster an open dialogue where students participate actively, ask questions, and share their opinions.
Feedback and correction: I provide immediate, constructive feedback during lessons, helping students identify mistakes and areas of improvement while offering explanations and solutions.
Homework and practice: I often assign light homework (writing, reading, or listening exercises) to reinforce the material learned and to continue practicing outside of class.
My Teaching Experience: With several years of experience in teaching English as a second language (ESL), I’ve worked with a diverse range of students—from young children to adults, including professionals and university students. I have successfully prepared students for exams like IELTS and TOEFL, helping them achieve their target scores.
I’m well-versed in using modern teaching tools, such as online learning platforms and language apps, to enhance my lessons. This experience allows me to effectively teach students of all learning styles and backgrounds, adapting to their pace and preferences.
