I usually teach 1 hour class, segmenting it in different section. I like to start with an introduction, to evaluate the student I am working with, getting to know him/her and after that I start to initiate with vocabularies that he/she already know and other usage in different situations. The most important part I like to emphasize is on the understanding and speaking, using repetition and making the student comfortable enough to talk about their past experiences giving simple answers. Moreover, I also like to work with prep sheets that I personally have already with me, but I also can formulate a personalized spreadsheet for that class in specific , fulfilling in what it's needed at the moment. I personally believe adaptability is an important key to make people feel confident enough to think in English, therefore the usage of other methods can help stimulate the learning process such as flashcards, songs or short videos, content with real life examples. Getting closer to the end of the class I like to talk about the activities we've done so far, also reviewing their answer and focusing on the past mistakes. Lastly, I give them an assignment to do at home, encouraging them to speak out loud whilst writing the answer. The following class I usually start doing a quick review from the previous one and them I start to correct the homework followed by a real time feedbacks, taking notes from each student's mistake and assisting with any doubt that they may have.
