In my 5 years of teaching I have experience in multiple styles: online, tutoring one on one, or in groups of 2-30. Although my German is not fluent (B1) I can definitely explain simply and accessibly when it is necassary for translation. After learning German myself I know the difficulty of learning new languages I therefore understand the best way to explain new content to another student using visual aids or trying to explain verbally (in German). Translation is so important for internalisation and to help us make connections to better understand and grasp new words or concepts in a language. With practice and a flexible approach to teaching to what the student needs they will improve quickly and get all work that needs to be done finished and feeling confident!
Online one on one or groups - my online classes are interactive, fun and colourful they are flexible for all ages and appeal directly to the target level and age. My lessone include activities which practice all areas written, spoken, reading and listening.
One on one classes or groups in person- Depending always on the age and level of my classes they are always aimed specifically and adjusted so. A curriculum is followed and the student always finishes the class having had fun and being able to practice/learn in a fun and stimulating environment. I like to use a variety of different skills and activities to keep students engaged based on their interests even when the topic might not be so interesting. Grammar is shown and explained and new vocabulary are all all modelled and practiced until the student feels comfortable with the new content.
