Hi everyone! I'm Başak, a Cambridge-certified English Language teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience. My degree is in English Linguistics, and my teaching career started in Turkey, my motherland. However, I have been traveling and teaching at International Schools for the past eight years. First in China then in Germany and now in Kenya; therefore, my students come from different places worldwide and experience various cultural backgrounds. I taught middle, high school, and university students. Moreover, I taught adult language courses, face-to-face and online, and Business English to professionals working in several companies and organizations. I want to design a class that suits you the best; therefore, it is important to me to learn about your interests, learning style, and language goals - whether it is to improve your writing, reading, listening, speaking skills, or use of English. Therefore, I will get to know you during our first lesson, and we will explore these aspects. After that, the material for each class will be designed according to your needs and level of English, while we will explore news articles, podcasts, videos, TV shows, stories, role plays and other types of resources. If you are a parent, let me explain that my lessons are planned around what they are learning in their English classes at school or whatever content they are struggling with. Nowadays, young adults feel pressured to do well at school, compete with their friends and get the best grades, so my task is to be a helping hand for your teenager and provide them with the extra support they need. I love my job! Watching and celebrating students' language progress and achievements in their learning journey is very rewarding.
