Multilingual native speaker

I am a physicist who lived in the States from the ages of 7 to 27. In addition to English tutoring at all levels, I offer support in Russian, Spanish, mathematics & natural sciences.

As a child of academics, I was blessed to learn maths in a supportive, low-pressure environment. On weekend mornings, over pie at a local diner, my parents taught me multivariable algebra while my peers mastered arithmetic.

My unique relationship with the subject allowed me to pursue my curiosity & passion for natural sciences, to study astrophysics on multiple continents. Concurrently, I developed a love for performance, growing as an artist.

As I integrated myself into the creative community, I noticed a troubling trend -- a number of my friends, all dazzlingly intelligent, convinced of their own stupidity by an unsympathetic maths instructor in years gone by.

Mathematics is a language, with all the challenges & rewards of any language acquisition. I hope to pass on to students & their families the tools that helped me overcome challenges I faced; analytical, interpersonal & emotional.
