I focus on immersive language learning and try to assist my students in learning by using a variety of different methods such as reading, writing, conversation, and listening exercises. Along with this I believe that media is a fun and important tool to assist in language learning and I often use media as a way to keep students engaged and to teach cultural lessons. I also work to promote a level of cultural fluency along with linguistic fluency with my English lessons to encourage students to feel confident engaging with native speakers and fel that they are on solid footing when communicating. I also enjoy using fun linguistic mediums such as music, poetry, and literature so that students can be actively engaged with the language and feel inspired to further explore English. Along with this I have experience with accent reduction training and have experience teaching students to better understand different national and regional English accents. I believe that sometimes the variety of English accents can be a daunting task for English learners but with a little assistance it becomes something easily manageable and a fun part learning any new language. Overall, I am someone who is passionate about languages and I believe that with the right guidance and support that anyone can become a well rounded and expert second language speaker.
