Providing a specific curriculum for the targeted group is the first thing to start with, this way I can ensure that I could deliver the best quality of education to the students and we stay on the right track from the beginning to the end. I offer teaching in levels from A1 to B2 to varying student groups.
I deploy communicative and task-based methods in my classes, which in my opinion support and enhance the learning process of my students. That means I first start with giving the students the formula of the topic for that class, make students converse in pairs first and then continue sharing more ideas and talk together, after that a task-based activity follows. Students reinvents and reconstructs everything they learn in that manner. However, the methods themselves are decontextualized, each method I put into practice will be shaped by the students in the end, since a particular method might not be a prescription for success for everyone.
I received my TESOL certificate in 2020, and have started working with primary and high school students& adults since then. I acquired the ability to differentiate the needs between different age groups, become more creative with multimedia teaching techniques and overall gained an effective classroom management. Language, learning, teaching are dynamic, fluid processes and in this regard, I still approach teaching as a mystery to be solved and see my teaching as a source of continuing professional renewal and refreshment.
