Athanasia

Hello! I am Athanasia and I tutor Greek and English.

Languages are one of my biggest strengths and interests. I am a native Greek speaker, and I am fluent in English. Having lived in the UK for nearly 6 years and having undertaken two graduate level courses in the language, I am at near-native level. I have taught mainly in English, so tutoring English is as natural for me as tutoring Greek.

I am passionate for Greek thanks to my parents, who are both philologists, and have always been educating me around modern and ancient Greek. I always performed at the highest degree in modern and ancient Greek when I was in school, and I am very knowledgeable about the grammar, syntax, etymology of my language.

I have taught piano, music theory, and music composition since 2013. I taught almost full time between I have experience in teaching students aged 5-87, of all levels. I taught using a variety of methods, and I adjust my methodologies based on the needs of every individual student.

I am deeply passionate about tutoring as I feel it is my obligation to give back some of the knowledge I have received, over all these years I have been in education. Teaching is a highly stimulating and fulfilling experience for me, and I always make sure that I learn from my own students. I am highly empathetic and always strive for personal connection with students so that I can tailor my teaching exactly to their needs and learning rhythms.
