During my National Youth Service Corps in my home country Nigeria, I had an opportunity to tutor Secondary schools students for 1 year of my service.
I teach students both Orally and Theoretically.
I have a very very calm and polite personality which makes it easy to teach student of any kind of background, considering my experience in teaching children from an absolutely different ethic background from mine.
It was a good way to start a career experience considering how tough the student proved to be when I resumed my place of primary assignment, eventually they became more accommodating, loving, attentive and they were always looking forward to school the next day.
It was more like a life time achievement for me to have accomplished my mission in making them more committed to school and their studies.
It was a really emotional time for me and the student/staff of the school at the completion of my service year. They wished I could stay back in their state and not go back to my state but I just have to, considering the fact that the tradition of The Natiional Youth Service Corps in Nigeria is that when you are done with your service year you must pass out for others Corp members to also be deployed to the same place of primary assignment for their own youth service.
It would really be of great pleasure to be given an opportunity to more tutor student now and in the future.
There is always a joy that comes with impacting others with knowledge.
